Finch 4 - Rebecca Finch

Rebecca Finch

“For years I used art as an escape, which created a chasm between who I was as a person and what I painted. I have recently learned that dividing my heart from my brush keeps me emotionally stagnated and also causes my paintings to become shallow. Today, who I am is blended in with paint and brushes as these paintings are a direct expression of my heart, experiences and growth. Each is a visual allegory for experiences and emotions that belong to all of us. As I paint, certain colors and their meanings bring comfort. I find myself drawn to keys, feathers, silver, glass and antique objects with a history of their own and mostly belonging to special people in my life. As you view my work, may you experience a connection and perhaps find yourself also mingled somewhere between the brushstrokes.”
